Matt Fox is a nationally recognized television personality best known as the co-host of HGTV’s Room by Room, the network’s very first show, which premiered in December 1994. Over its 13+ year run, Room by Room became the longest-running decorating series in television history. Matt hosted, wrote, and designed more than 360 episodes and 12 one-hour feature specials for HGTV, including the record-breaking Christmas Room by Room Style—the highest-rated holiday special in the network’s history (2000).
In addition to his HGTV success, Matt co-created and co-hosted Around the House with Matt and Shari, a 36-episode home improvement series for PBS’s Create Network. Together, Matt and Shari also authored two books—Real Decorating for Real People and Great Weekend Projects, bringing their signature blend of creativity and accessibility to audiences nationwide.
Over the years, Matt has had the privilege of designing, building, painting, and probably hot-gluing more things than he can count. But what has never changed is his belief that home should feel like you—not a showroom, not a magazine spread, but a place that reflects your life, your story, and your style.
With over 30 years of experience as a dynamic speaker and presenter, Matt has headlined more than 100 home shows, trade events, and corporate functions across the country. His expertise and engaging presence have earned him features in national media including USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Better Homes & Gardens, and Savvy magazine, along with numerous appearances on regional and national radio and television programs.
